Students receiving this award must consistently show a positive attitude toward learning, demonstrate above average achievement, and consistently model a Christ-like life.
The Domel Award is presented to the boy and girl in 8th grade who have achieved the highest cumulative GPA for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade during their years at St. Catherine's. The Domel Award this year was awarded to Maya Dagamac and Jason Jardiel.

The Christian Athlete Award was awarded on our Athletic Award Night to Stephanie DeWitt and Thomas Walla. The Christian Athlete Award is given to the 8th grade boy and girl who display leadership, sportsmanship and fair play as well as athletic ability. The students who receive this award display these qualities in the gym or playing field as well as the classroom. He and she lead by example and are all-around participants, displaying ability in more than one sport. He or she need not be the star player, but a team player, one who gives to the team and therefore, to the school.
The St. Timothy Award is a national award given to youths who live as a disciple of Christ, set a positive example for other youths, witness their faith by exhibiting Catholic morals and integrity, and serve others. These individuals are Christian leaders in our parish, school, and community. The St. Timothy Award was awarded to Emma Blatz.

Allen Skillicorn Summer Reading Club (attachment)
Now that summer is almost here, Allen Skillicorn, the State Representative for our area, is offering an annual Summer Reading Program to keep students intellectually engaged during summer vacation. This Summer Reading Club (please see the attached brochure) offers students in kindergarten through 5th grade the opportunity to keep their minds active during summer vacation, while also providing the chance to have some fun for participating.
To be a member of the Summer Reading Club, students are asked to read eight books (books over 150 pages count for two) between the time school ends and the program deadline of the first Friday of August. Students who achieve this goal will be invited to join their fellow students and Rep. Skillicorn at an ice cream social in early fall. This program can be done in conjunction with any program already in existence at your school, or offered through the public library in your school’s community .
