Grant and Aid Application through FACTS
St. Catherine of Siena School has partnered with FACTS to offer families the option to complete the FACTS Grant and Aid Application for financial assistance. School families interested in seeking financial aid will need to login to their FACTS account and complete the online application in its entirety. Fr. DeBlock will review your application and determine the amount of aid (if any) which may be awarded to the applicant. This application process will help Fr. DeBlock make a more informed decision when deciding on financial assistance. The link for the grant and aid application will remain open through April 30th, 2019. Please make sure to submit your application soon for consideration. Families receiving aid will be notified in May. If you have any questions about the process, please contact the school office.
Virtue of the Month: Courtesy
How many times have we
the phrase, "Mind your manners" or "Where has common courtesy gone?"
There seems to be a growing disconnect these days between treating people kindly and the sense of urgency to get things done quickly. The simple things like saying please and thank you and treating people respectfully are getting lost.
is defined as acting kindly towards others, being polite and having good manners. When you speak and act courteously, you give others a feeling of being valued and respected.
When we treat people with courtesy and respect, we are recognizing that that all are made in God's image and likeness. Please spend some time discussing with your child(ren) ways they show how to be courteous. Be a living example of how to be courteous. Hold the door for someone, say please and thank you, offer your seat to someone, express gratitude for a job well done, listen before offering your opinion, and smile! in the words of former NFL player Ty Howard, "Common courtesy should not be or fell like a grand gesture when you give it. When it's a part of your value system and upbringing, it comes and flows from you naturally." Something we should all strive to achieve.
Thank you from the 2nd Grade Class!
Thank you for the donations of baby and toddler items for the F.I.S.H Food Pantry. I know everyone who works at the pantry appreciates the help you gave to supply families with much needed items. The donations we received will help many families. We appreciate your help, too, for our special Lenten service project!

5th and 6th Grade Boys Volleyball Tournament
St. Catherine's Athletics will be hosting the 5th and 6th grade Tri-County Conference Boys Volleyball Tournament on Thursday, April 24th. The tournament will only take one day to complete but we will need several volunteers to help work concessions, scoreboard, and admissions. If you are still in need of service hours, this is a great way to get some! If you do sign up to work, please make sure to arrive 15 minutes prior to your shift to take over for the person already working. Please click on the following link to sign up. www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0c4eabae2ca57-56bvb
If you have any questions, please contact Nora Duran or Shannon Gassman. Thank you!
Tracking Service Hours
As the school year is quickly coming to an end, we would like to remind families to record any service hours you may have completed on the "Track Service Hours" link found under quick links on your Schoolspeak homepage. All families are expected to complete 20 service hours to the school by May, 2019. Single parent families and families who have children only in PK3 and PK4 are expected to complete 10 service hours. There are many opportunities to earn service hours through Athletics, Home and School events, and lunchroom volunteering. If you have any questions regarding your service hours, please contact the school office. A summary of service hours was emailed to families today.
As of April 1st students are able to begin wearing their uniform shorts to school again. Please keep in mind the cooler weather that we continue to have and make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for being outdoors during lunch recess.
