Virtue for the month of March: Respect
This month our school will be focusing on the Virtue of Respect. We show respect by speaking and acting with courtesy. We should treat people with dignity and honor the rules of our school, family, and country. We all have people in our lives whom we respect, but how often do we share our feelings with those people about the difference they have made in our lives? Do we respect ourselves enough to make good choices and decisions about our faith, health, family and children, and friendships? Are we respectful in the things we say and do in our daily life? As we begin our Lenten journey this week and set aside distractions in our life, please take some time to speak with your child(ren) about some ways they already practice respect. Ask them about how they feel when they are treated respectfully as opposed to being treated disrespectfully. Find out from them who they respect in their lives and why they respect them. And, when we go out into our community to serve those in need let us remember that "A person's a person, no matter how small." (Dr. Seuss), and the respect we show to those less fortunate is something we are all called to do as part of our Catholic faith.

New policy for picking up students
Beginning Monday, March 11th, we will be implementing a new policy for students who need to leave school early. Parents will need to come into the school office to sign out their child if they are being dismissed for any appointments, or are going home due to illness. This new policy is being started in an effort to help with our school record keeping. Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.

Snow Day Makeup Date
Due to the unexpected snow day on Monday, December 10th, we will be making up the missed day of school on Wednesday, April 24. We were scheduled to have a teacher institute day, but we will now have a regularly scheduled school day. Please mark your calendars with the updated information. No other snow days will need to be made up as they were considered virtual learning days.

Collection for F.I.S.H. Food Pantry
The Second Graders and NJHS will be taking up a collection of items for babies and toddlers during Lent for the F.I.S.H. Food Pantry. They could use our help in collecting diapers, wipes, blankets, pacifiers, etc., to help with the needs of babies and toddlers in our area. F.I.S.H. cannot take jar baby food.  Please help if you can! Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated. Please bring the item(s) to the 2nd grade classroom before or after school. We will be collecting these items until Wednesday, April 10th. Thank you!
