Last chance to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences
Friday, November 16th is the last day the link will be open to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences. Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place on Tuesday, November 20th from 12:30 pm - 8:00 pm. The link to s ign up for conferences is now open and is available under the "Quick Links" tab found on your Schoolspeak account. If you have any difficulties scheduling, please contact the school office.  We look forward to seeing all of you next week!

NJHS would like to thank everyone who contributed to our classroom Pennies for Pies contest! Winners will be announced next week. All money collected from the contest will go towards purchasing pies for F.I.S.H. Food Pantry. These pies will be included in Thanksgiving dinners for less fortunate families. 
Barnes and Noble Book Fair
Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday to Barnes and Noble Book Store to support our Book Fair!  If you were unable to get to Barnes and Noble yesterday,  you can still shop online from today through November 20th. Please use the code 12451175 at checkout and a percentage of all sales will come back to the school. Thank you for your continues support of our fundraisers and school!
ButterBraid Order Pick Up - Saturday, November 17th
Pick up for ButterBraid orders will take place this Saturday at school from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM, after all Masses this weekend, and at dismissal on Monday.  If you are unable to pick up your ButterBraids during these times, please contact Leslie DeWitt to make other arrangements. 
Breakfast with Baby Jesus - Invitation and Star attached
Please join us for Breakfast With Baby Jesus on Saturday, December 8th from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. This wonderful tradition includes: Continental breakfast, a nativity procession, crafts, story, and more. If you would like to provide additional support or aren’t able to attend, please consider sponsoring a star. Invitations and Star Sponsor information were sent home with students today so please be sure to check your child's backpack. If you need additional invitations or stars, please use the forms attached to this Dialogue. Our event falls on the feast of the Immaculate Conception. Please consider joining us for mass before the event at 8:00 AM  or immediately following the event at 10:30 AM. 
St. Catherine of Siena Christmas Tree Program
The annual Knights of Columbus Christmas Tree event begins on Friday, November 23rd and will run through Sunday, December 9th. The Tree Stand will be open weekdays from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and each weekend from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM. 
Select from fresh cut Northern Michigan Christmas Trees such as Fraser Fir, Balsam Fir, and Scotch Pines, including over 30 types of Christmas Wreaths. Fresh garland will also be available. Trees will range in size from 6' - 10' and special tree delivery can be arranged upon request.

Fresh Fruit Friday
Greetings Spartans! The Athletic Department will be offering Fresh Fruit Fridays on the last Friday of the month. Our First Fresh Fruit Friday will be Friday November 30 . We will send home an order form with all children next week that will need to be returned by November 26 with payment. Please look for the flyer in your child’s backpack. We hope this new and healthy FUNDraiser will bring in some funds for our Athletic Department while providing a nutritious snack for our student body. Go Spartans!
Cold weather reminder
Now that snowflakes are in the air, we would like to remind parents to make sure your child(ren) are dressed properly for outside recess with hats, mittens or gloves, winter coat, and boots if needed. Children in Kindergarten through 5th grade go outside daily for 20 minutes after lunch. Let's do our best to keep everyone warm!
December Lunch Orders
The link is now open to place your child's lunch orders for December. Orders can be placed through Wednesday, November 28th. New in December, Athletics will now offer a pizza option along with Subway sandwiches on Mondays. Pizza will be provided by Papa John's and the slices will be slightly smaller than those previously purchased from Dominick's. The cost for this lunch will be $2.50 and includes a healthy side and fruit. Home and School has also added a Grilled Cheese Sandwich option to the Tuesday lunch.  Please make sure to place the order for your child's lunch by November 28th as we will not be able to add on orders once the site has closed.
3rd Grade Candy for the Troops Project
Thank you to all the students and families who contributed to the 3rd Grade class's "Candy for Troops" collection. We were able to fill three large boxes with the collected candy which will be sent overseas to our troops. When the candy was dropped off we were told how much our servicemen and women look forward to receiving care packages from home. Thank you for supporting such a great cause!

St. Catherine's Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair this Sunday!
St. Catherine of Siena School is once again hosting their annual Craft and Vendor Fair on Sunday, November 18th from 8:30 am - 2:00 pm. The craft fair is a great way to great some early Christmas shopping done for those special people on your Christmas list!
St. Edward Central Catholic High School Placement Test Information
St. Edward Central Catholic High School will offer two options for incoming freshmen to take the high school placement exam. The test is administered to eighth grade students interested in attending the college preparatory Catholic High School beginning in the fall of 2019. The first placement test will be administered on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, and the second will be administered on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019. Students may choose either day to test. Students need only test once. The test will begin at 8:30 a.m. and ends at noon. Students are requested to arrive at St. Edward Central Catholic, 335 Locust Street, Elgin, Ill., by 8:15 a.m. There is a $15 test fee that can be paid by check or cash on the day of the exam. Walk-ins are welcome. To register for the placement test or for more information, contact Ms. Rachel Popa, school counselor, at or call 847-741-7535 ext. 113.
