Virtue for the month of November: Generosity
When students return to school on Monday, November 5th, they will begin to focus on the Virtue of Generosity. By definition, the word generous means showing a readiness to give more of something than what is necessary or expected. The month of November offers several opportunities for children to share their generosity with others. The following are some great examples of things our St. Catherine students can participate in to show their generous spirit: Student Council Winter Coat Drive, Pennies for Pies, handing out Veteran's Day Prayer cards after Mass, and Candy for the Troops. Please encourage your children to participate in these activities to help make a difference in someone else's life.

You have never really lived until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” – Mother Teresa

Help needed after all Masses on Veterans' Day Weekend
Students from school are invited to help distribute a Veterans Day prayer card and a small plastic military figurine to parishioners after every Mass on Veterans Day weekend. These cards and figurines remind our parish family to pray for all Veterans. An announcement will be made at Mass telling everyone what we are doing in the Narthex. The prayer cards and figurines will be placed in baskets and then our students will pass them out to the parishioners when they leave church.

Please consider having your child(ren) help with this activity. Perhaps they could get a group of friends together to cover the same Mass, or maybe even your entire family would like to help! It would be great to have A LOT of our students there, not only showing support for our Veterans but also our school. Children would be asked to wear their St. Catherine of Siena School uniforms to Mass.  The Mass schedule is as follows:  Saturday, November 10 4:30 p.m. Sunday, November 11 7:30 a.m. Sunday, November 11 9:30 a.m. Sunday, November 11 11:30 a.m.

A faculty member will be present to help organize the distribution of our prayer cards and figurines. Please contact Mrs. Johnson at johnsonmp@st-cath.net as soon as possible to let her know which Mass time your child(ren) would. be willing help with, so we can plan accordingly. Please consider joining us!

Student Council Winter Coat Drive
Student Council is still accepting coats for their winter coat drive. All coats and jackets collected will be donated to our local F.I.S.H Food Pantry. Donations will be accepted through Wednesday, November 7th and then delivered to the F.I.S.H Pantry by the end of next week. Thank you for helping to support this great cause!

3rd Graders invited to join Morning Workouts
Dear Parents,

Starting this Tuesday, November 6th we are opening our morning workouts up to our 3rd grade students.  Students will be allowed to go into the gym anytime between 8:00 and 8:15. Once in the gym they will have the privilege to participate in a morning workout. Research shows that physical activity helps the brain prepare for learning.

You will be able drop your child off in the back of the school and the supervisors will direct your child to the gym. A morning workout will begin once inside the gym. I want to emphasize that this will not be an organized game but it will be an organized & fun time for some morning exercises.

This is a completely optional opportunity for your child to participate in. There will be no changes to your morning student drop off location. The only change will be that once your child arrives to school, s/he will be allowed to go into the gym and begin a morning workout. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me at gassmans@st-cath.net

Sincerely,
Shannon Gassman

Save money on your tuition! (Order form attached)
It's a great time to stock up on gift cards for your Thanksgiving dinner! Consider ordering gift cards for Jewel, Woodman's, Baker's Square, Binny's, Target, or Walmart. Why not save money on tuition for things you will be already be buying?

For a limited time, we are attaching paper order forms to the Dialogue for you to use in placing TRIP orders. Please use this form to place and order any gifts cards you would like to purchase. The form, along with payment, should be returned to the school office on Monday mornings by 9:00 AM so that we can submit your order to the Scrip Center. Cards will be sent home with students on Wednesdays. This will hopefully give families the opportunity to try out the TRIP program to see how easy and convenient it is to save on tuition. This paper option will be available through December to help you with all your Holiday shopping.

However, if you would like to place an order online or set up a TRIP account, please use the following link https://www.shopwithscrip.com. You will need the school code "2CL3966D181" in order to link your account to St. Catherine's so that you will start receiving credit on your tuition for orders. Our next order will be placed on Monday, November 5th.  Please have your payment into the school office by 9:00 am or pay online with your presto pay account. If you have any questions about how to use this program, please contact the school office.
