New Water Fountains Installed 
Thank you to Mr. John Krenz, owner of Amy Home Services, for installing new water fountains in our first floor hallway. Thank you to the Elkay company for donating the fountains. One has a bottle filler which is awesome for our students. We appreciate Mr. Krenz asking the manufacturer to donate the fountains and for taking the time to install them. We are blessed to have such generous people in our community!
Email Procedures for School Families
The Diocese of Rockford has asked us to inform our parents that if you are emailing more than 5 people at a time, please blind copy the recipients you are emailing. This is for security purposes and we ask your cooperation when sending out emails to school families. Some people do not like blind copying because you cannot see who else received the email. You can say in your email, "I emailed the whole class, or I emailed everyone volunteering for this event, ...". We recommend that you send emails through your Schoolspeak account as it will automatically blind copy names if there are more than 5 recipients. If you have any questions, please contact the school office. Thank you! 
Discovery Language Spanish CD's Now Available - flyer attached
Students in grades K-8 began their Spanish classes this week. The classes are being taught by Senora Hernandez from Discovery Languages. Every student has received a Spanish workbook from Mrs. Henandez. Discovery Language offers a  CD that corresponds to each workbook and are an excellent tool for home reinforcement. Parents can order a CD by returning the attached form to the school office along with payment. CD’s will be shipped directly to school and distributed to students who have ordered them.
Affy Tapple Sale - flyer attached
The Knights of Columbus are now taking orders for their annual Affy Tapple Sale! Orders need to be turned in to the school office no later than Friday, September 28th. The Knights will be taking orders after all Masses the weekend of September 29th and 30th. Orders are to be picked up on Sunday October 7th. Please see the attached order form for more information. 
7th/8th Grade Dance Tonight! - flyer attached
St. Mary's School in Elgin is hosting a dance tonight for all 7th and 8th grade students. The dance begins at 7:00 PM and the price for admission is $5.00. There will be concessions available for purchase. Please see the attached flyer for more information. 
Spartan Sweepstakes Raffle
This is the last week of our Spartan Sweepstakes fundraiser! All raffle tickets and money are due on Friday, September 28th by 12:00 PM. The raffle drawing will take place at 2:45 PM on Friday, September, 28th. This fundraiser helps to offset the initial operational and startup costs for our school each year. Thank you to everyone who has already turned in their money and ticket stubs! Prizes for the raffle are:
Grand Prize: $1000.00 Cash
2nd Prize: 2 - $500.00 Winners
3rd Prize: 3 - $250.00 Winners
4th Prize: 5 - $100.00 Winners
5th Prize: 20 - $25.00 Target Gift Card Winners
Families who sell more than 25 tickets will be entered into a separate drawing for $100.00 in gift cards. Keep up the great work selling the tickets, and thank you all for your continued support of our school!
Last week to register for After School Enrichment programs
This is the last week to register for one of our new after school enrichment programs. "Smart Start Art", "Let's Code It", and "Let's Build It" classes will begin the week of October 1st. Please see the attached flyers for more information about these great new programs being offered at our school. Classes will be taught by Mrs. Oskorep and Mrs. Ruden.
Last Day to order October Lunches
Today is the last day to place your orders for October lunches. We are now offering lunch options 5 days a week! Home and School is working with Southern Belles Restaurant to provide our Tuesday lunch. Please check out the new options offered. Please make sure to place your order before the link has closes tonight.
Save the Date! Trivia Night is back! This year, Trivia Night will be November 3 in the school gym. The theme will be '80s Night ! (Don't worry - not all the questions will be '80s themed.) So, start thinking of your table decorations and line your babysitter up! More info coming soon!
Golf Outing at Randall Oaks - flyer attached
St. Catherine's Home and School Association has organized a golf outing event at Randall Oaks Golf Club on Saturday, October 13th! Anyone 13 and older is welcome to attend. Price per golfer is $100.00 and includes 18 holes, a golf cart, two drink tickets, and a buffet dinner. Single golfers will be matched to form teams. A dinner only option is available for non-golfers. Friends and family are welcome to attend. Price is $25.00 for adult and $15.00 for children. All proceeds from the golf outing and dinner will go towards St. Catherine of Siena School improvements. Please see the attached flyer for more information to to register for this fun event!
It's TRIP Time! (Tuition Reduction Incentive Program)
It's never too late to start saving money on your tuition! Sign up for a free account at https://www.shopwithscrip.com to start earning rebates back on your tuition. There are thousands of cards available for purchase each with a rebate percentage back towards your tuition. 
You will need the school code "2CL3966D181" in order to link your account to St. Catherine's so that you will start receiving credit on your tuition for orders. Our next order will be placed on Monday, September 24th. Please have your payment into the school office by 9:00 am or pay online with your presto pay account. If you have any questions about how to use this program, please contact the school office.
Help us pave the way to a brighter future! - flyer attached
The Home & School Association of St. Catherine School is sponsoring a "brick fundraiser". If you would like to have a personalized brick included on the school/church grounds, please complete the attached form and return it to the school office. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the school!
Box Tops for Education - flyer attached
We are holding a FALLing for box tops classroom competition again! Last year our school received $1360. Every clip counts! Look for those box tops on cereal, snacks, and paper products you already purchase and help our school earn FREE money. You can turn in box tops in a ziploc bag, envelope, or taped box top form labeled with your child's classroom teacher. The winning classroom will win a sweet fall treat.
