Registration for the 2018 - 2019 School Year
Registration for the 2018 - 2019 school year will open via your Schoolspeak account in the next few weeks. We will soon be sending out an email to all school families with an updated tuition schedule, information on how to access the online registration, and general information about the upcoming school year. January tuition statements were emailed out to parents on January 8th. Tuition must be current before your child's registration will be accepted for next year. If you have questions about your current statement, please contact the school office to set up an appointment with Miss Cannon.
School Absences and Illnesses
With the return to school and the flu season upon us, we just wanted to share a few quick reminders if your child is sick or has missed a day of school.
  • If your child will be absent from school, please call or email the school office by 9:00 AM on the day of the absence.
  • If your child is sent home from school with a fever, he/she must be fever free for 24 hours without being on fever reducing medication before they are allowed to return to school.
  • Please notify the school office if your child has been diagnosed with a case of Strep throat.
  • Students exhibiting stomach flu symptoms should be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school.
  • Please encourage your child to wash their hands frequently, sneeze and/or cough into their elbow.
  • Students must bring a note with them when returning to school explaining why they were absent.
Let's do our best to stay healthy this year!
 Christmas Cards Wanted
As you are putting away the Christmas decorations and tiding up from the holidays, please remember to save your used Christmas cards. We use discarded Christmas cards for lots of different art projects. Please send the cards to school marked to the attention of Art Dept/Mrs. Oskorep.  Thank you and Happy New Year!!!
Pictures needed for our School Yearbook!
This is a plea for your help!!!!! I am working on the 2018-19 yearbook and I am in desperate need of pictures from you. Any photos of classroom parties, any school events, and/or sporting events are needed to fill the pages of our upcoming yearbook. I would greatly appreciate any contributions. Photos can be submitted via email if you have a few that you want to share. If you have a larger number of photos to share, then you could also send them to school copied to a flash drive or CD and mark them to the attention Mrs. Oskorep. I will be prompt in copying the images and returning the materials to you. (If you wish to send actual photos, then I can scan them and return the photos to you.) PLEASE submit your images as soon as possible.
Birthday Boxes for FISH Food Pantry -
Catholic Schools Week will be January 27th thru February 1st. The theme this year is “Catholic Schools - Learn, Serve, Lead, Succeed.” NJHS is sponsoring a school wide service project to create birthday bags for the F.I.S.H. food pantry. Students will be making birthday cards and decorating the birthday bags during art classes. The birthday bags will be filled and delivered the following week. Each grade has been assigned a special part for this project. If everyone participates we hope to be able to make some birthdays a little more special for people that visit the food pantry. Please see the attached flyer to see what your child is being asked to donate for this project. NJHS will be collecting the requested items from the classrooms and assembling the birthday bags during Catholic Schools Week. Please send these items to school as soon as possible. Thank you!

Grandparents and Special Friends' Day - Wednesday, January 31st - Flyer attached
Students are encouraged to invite their grandparents or a special person in their life to celebrate mass with us on Wednesday, January 31st. This will give the children a chance to showcase their school day with someone who may not have been here before. However, if a grandparent or other special friend is unavailable to attend, a parent is welcome to attend but may be asked to volunteer as a special person for other classmates who may not have a special person visiting that day.
This event is very well attended so reservations are required. Please see the attached flyers to see the timeline for the day and to RSVP for this event. Any parents interested in helping with check in or serving refreshments should please contact Susan Holland.
February Lunch Orders
The link is now open on Schoolspeak to place your orders for February hot lunches. The link will remain open through Wednesday, January 24th. Please make sure to place your child's order before the link closes.
