My name is Bob Acevedo. My wife Kasia and I have 3 daughters,
our oldest who completed primary education here at Saint Catherine school, and
we currently have two more daughters attending. I have been asked by many of
you about my family in Puerto Rico. They, like so many Americans on the island,
are safe but in need of our support after the devastation left by hurricanes
Irma and Maria. Many families like my mom's sister and my dad's brother had
their roofs blow off and lost almost everything in their homes. This is just a
small example of what they are facing on the island.
Our school would also like to help out with the relief effort
and raise money to get basic supplies, food, water, medicine, and fuel.
We will be organizing a bake sale on Thursday, October 5th and

in small ziplock bags and deliver to school by 1 PM.
Also, this Sunday, October 1st, we will be selling
store-bought sweets during all three masses. We are looking for people who
would like to either purchase goods or help us with the sale during any of the
Please reach out to me at 847-951-2233 with any questions and to
let me know what you would like to help with.
If you are unable to make it to the bake sale you can still help
out by donating at http://unidosporpuertorico.com/en/.
This is an effort organized by Beatriz Rosselló, the wife of Puerto Rico Gov.
Ricardo Rosselló, to support hurricane victims in Puerto Rico.
We truly appreciate everyone's effort in this endeavor.
