Tonight Only - Wayne Messmer presents Father Damien, "the Leper Priest of Molokai"
Learn about the heroic efforts of Father Damien, "the Leper Priest of Molokai", when Chicago actor Wayne Messmer performs his critically acclaimed role of Father Damien, in the award-winning one -man play, Damien by Aldyth Morris, right here at St. Catherine of Siena Church on Friday, September 22 at 7:30pm. A free will donation is requested. Everyone is welcome to attend and learn how Father Damien overcame the odds and cared for the needs of thousands of tragically abandoned men, women and children in Hawaii who were beset with the incurable and thought-to-be highly contagious leprosy (Hansen’s Disease).
Pope Benedict XVI canonized Saint Damien in a ceremony held at the Vatican on October 11, 2009. The remarkable story of this courageous man of conviction will be told as Messmer brings this powerful message to life. You won’t want to miss this great parish event.
