Spartan Sweepstakes: We are heading into the final few  weeks of our Spartan Sweepstakes fundraiser! Thank you to everyone who has already turned in their money and ticket stubs! Prizes for the raffle are:
1st Place Prize: $3000.00 Cash or
1 year free tuition for first child ($3,555.00 value)
2nd Place Prize: $500.00
3rd Place Prize: $250.00
10 additional winners each of a $25.00 Gift Card 
Families who sell more than 25 tickets will be entered into a separate drawing for $100.00 in gift cards. Keep up the great work selling the tickets, and thank you all for your continued support of our school!
Hurricane Harvey Fundraiser
Ms. Ruden and her third grade class would like to help out the families in Texas that have been affected by Hurricane Harvey. On Thursday September 14th , we will have a school wide dress down day! Please donate a $1.00 towards dressing down and help us raise money for the families that desperately need help. Money should be turned in by Wednesday, Sept. 13 to your child's classroom teacher. Please be sure to refer to the Handbook for alternate dress day attire. All money collected will be donated to our local St. Vincent de Paul Society who is working to send needed supplies to the areas in Texas that are most in need of help.

School Picture Day - September 15th
School pictures for children in grades PK4 - 8th Grade will take place on Friday, September 15th. This will be a dress down day for students so please make sure to follow the guidelines for alternate dress code guidelines that can be found on pages 31 and 32 in the parent handbook. Picture order forms have been sent home with students and will need to be returned to their teacher by Thursday, September 14th. Please make sure to check your child's backpack for the order form. PK3 and retake pictures will be taken in October.
The 13th Annual Clergy Appreciation Dinner
Every year, the Knights of Columbus in our area sponsors a Clergy Appreciate Dinner to honor our priests, deacons and religious sisters. This event will be held at St. Mary’s Huntley on Friday, October 13th, located at 10307 Dundee Rd. Doors will open at 5:45pm. Tickets are $35 each until September 26 th. After that date tickets will be $40. Well-wishers contributions are encouraged. Join us in honoring Fr. DeBlock, Fr. Gow and Deacons Bill, Hank and Steve.
Representatives will be available in the Narthex after all Masses this weekend of September 9&10 and 16&17. Contact SK Phil Weiss at 630-715-7527 or pweiss60118@gmail.com if interested. Please join us at this special event to show our appreciation to our clergy.
Box Tops for Education - flyer attached
Our Home and School Association has set a goal of collecting 25,000 box tops this year which will help raise $2500.00 for our school. Over the next few weeks, there will be a competition between classrooms to see who can bring in the most box tops. Look for more information on this competition to come out in next week's Dialogue. For a list of participating box top products go to BTFE.com. Please make sure box tops are not expired when sending them to school. 
Craft and Vendor Fair coming to St. Catherine's - Flyers attached
New to St. Catherine's this year is a Craft and Vendor Fair which will take place on Sunday, November 19th from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Enjoy holiday shopping with some wonderful local vendors while supporting our school! Please see the attached flyer if you are interested in being a vendor for this event.
Chess Scholar Club 
Beginning in October, St. Catherine's offer our students the opportunity to learn how to play chess! Chess Scholars will be coming to our school to start up this great new club for students in Kindergarten - 8th grade.  All are welcome to join and no previous knowledge of chess is necessary. Please see the attached flyer for information on how to register your child.
October Lunch Orders:
The site is now open for ordering October lunches. We are happy to announce that we are now able to provide a Friday lunch option for students. The site to order lunches will remain open through Friday, September 22nd. Please place your order soon. Payment for October lunches are due by September 29th.
New forms for volunteers - Flyer attached
An important change being required by the Diocese this year, is that ALL volunteers who will be helping out at the school will need to complete the attached paperwork and the online Protecting God's Children training course before being allowed to participate in school activities. If you have already completed the Protecting God's Children training you do not need to take it again, however we will still need you to complete the volunteer forms attached to this Dialogue. Please turn the documents into the school office by September 15th. This request applies to all volunteers, coaches, lunchroom helpers, parents working classroom parties, etc. We appreciate your understanding and help in completing this request in a timely manner.

Education Commission Meeting
The first Education Commission Meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 20th at 7:30 PM in the McKinstra Room. An agenda for the meeting will be attached to a future Dialogue prior to the meeting taking place.
Spartan Care Program
Spartan Care, our after school program, is available everyday after school until 6:00 pm. If you need to register or schedule your child, please email Leslie DeWitt at dewitt1@st-cath.net.
