Summer Send Off Event! - Permission Slip attached
Time to retire your Spirit Walk shoes by donating them to the Youth Ministry’s shoe collection! The Spirit Walk has run its course and the First Grade is excited to host a new FUNdraiser in its place. “ Summer Send Off ” will be held in the morning of Monday, May 22nd. The fun fair will include: games, bouncing pony races, a giant inflatable hungry hippo game, temporary tattoos, prizes and more! In order to cover the cost of the fun and games, please send $12 per student or $20 per family along with the attached permission slip. The first 100 students to return their permission slips will receive a free open jump pass to Pump It Up! We are also asking that the students bring in a pair (or more) of shoes to donate to the shoe collection. The class with the highest participation of donated shoes will receive an ice cream treat at lunch.

Information will be sent home with students on Monday 5/1. Permission slips and money will be due back to school on Wednesday 5/10.

Teacher Appreciation Week -  May 1st thru 5th
A full week of "Around the World" themed activities and fun are planned for our wonderful faculty in honor of Teacher Appreciation week. Student's participation welcomed on Tuesday, May 2 (classroom supplies) and Thursday, May 4 (fresh flowers).

FRANCE: Bistro Cafe "Breakfast" provided by Home & School
Tues., May 2
CHINA: Build "The Great Wall of China" with student donated classroom school supplies -- e.g. dry erase markers, sticky notes, printer paper, etc.

ITALY: "Mangia!" An Italian feast for lunch provided by Home & School

Thurs., May 4
JAPAN: Design a Japanese Botanical Garden with student donated fresh, blooming flowers.

Fri., May 5
MEXICO: Piñata prizes and fun for faculty.

Spring Shoe Drive - Flyer attached  
Please join us in raising $3,000 for our youth to go to the Steubenville Summer Youth Conference this July!
Nope - we don't want money, just your gently used/worn or new shoes! Any size, any style, any season, children's/men's/women's! Our goal is to collect 7500 pairs of shoes by June 14 so we can earn $3,000 to help the students reduce the cost of their trip to Steubenville Summer Youth Conference! See the attached flier! Ask friends, family, neighbors, co-workers- anyone and everyone! to bring in their gently used/worn shoes, too! Just drop your pairs of shoes in the collection box located in the church narthex this week.

Home and School 2017-2018
Our Home and School Board is currently looking to fill several positions for our 2017-2018 school year. If you are interested in helping our school raise funds and organize fun, fellowship activities for our school families, please contact our current Home and School president Gina Griffin at gina.griffin@yahoo.com. This is a great way to get involved, meet lots of new people, and help make a difference for our school! Our next Home and School meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16 at 7:00. All are invited to attend!
Last Day to Order Flower Sales for Mission Trip - Flyer attached
April showers bring May Flowers - and what gardener doesn't love flowers! St. Catherine's Youth Mission Team are currently taking orders for flowers, vegetable plants, hanging baskets, and other beautiful plants. Orders will be delivered on Wednesday, May 10th, before Mother's Day, so they would make a great gift for Mom or the gardener in you!
To place an order, please download the order form which is attached to this Dialogue and return the form along with the payment to the school office. Orders can be placed through April 28th. All proceeds will support our summer mission team. Many of our St. Catherine alum are participating in this trip. Thanks for your support!!
May Crowning Mass
Please join us on Wednesday, May 3rd, at 8:45 AM for our school's May Crowning Mass. Everyone is welcome to attend!
Bake Sale on Wednesday, May 3rd 
Student Council will be hosting a bake sale at school on Wednesday, May 3rd. Every classroom will have an opportunity to purchase baked goods beginning at 2:30 that afternoon. There will be store bought Rice Krispie treats for those students who need a peanut free treat. All items are fifty cents and all proceeds go back to the kids for a future event so please take part in this sale. Thank you,

Flower sales during lunch on Wednesday, May 10th - Flyer attached
Surprise Mom this Mother's Day with a little gift! Four packs of flowers in several varieties will be available for purchase during lunch on Wednesday, May 10th. The cost is $2.00. If you would like to purchase flowers, please send your child(ren) with $2.00 on May 10th so that they can go shopping during their lunch period. 
St. Patrick's Spring Fling - Flyer attached
The calendar might say April but St. Catherine's Knights of Columbus are hosting a St. Patrick's Spring Fling Dinner and Dance night on Saturday, May 6 at 6:00 PM. There will be live music, raffles, Irish dancers, and a traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner served (optional chicken dish available upon request). Tickets are $30.00 each or 2 for $55.00. Please see the attached flyer for more information on this event. All proceeds will benefit St. Catherine's parish.
Athletic Awards Ceremony
This year's Athletic Award Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 10th at 7:00 PM. All students who participated in a sport this year will be recognized at this event.
Last Day of Bus Service - Flyer attached 
Thursday, May 25th will be the last day bus service will be available for our students for this school year. Please make sure to have alternate transportation arrangements for your child(ren) beginning Friday, May 26th. 
D300 will still provide afternoon bus service for the 2017 - 2018 school year. If your child is currently riding the bus or if you are interested in bus service for next year please complete the attached bus form and return it to school by Friday, May 19th. In order for students to be eligible for bus service they must live within certain D300 school boundaries. If you have any questions about the bus service, please contact the school office. 
Danny Blatz Memorial 5K Run/Walk Sunday, May 21, 2017
Come join us to remember Danny and raise money for a good cause. All proceeds from this event will go to Learning Disabilities of America (LDA). The 5K Run/Walk will wind through the Hills of West Dundee and the Tartans Park neighborhood. Registration and race packets will be distributed at Huffman Park on race morning starting at 7:30 AM. Race will start at 9:00 AM. Race fees will increase by $5.00 on race day so sign up early! Please register at www.signmeup.com and select "Find Event", type in the last name Blatz and IL for the state. Thank you! 
Variety Show - Flyer Attached
Get your act together and tryout for our annual variety show! Tryouts will take place on Wednesday, May 17 from 3:05 PM - 4:15 PM in the school gym. Past performances have included singers, dancers, skits, gymnastics, Tae-Kwon-Do, piano solos, bands and more. Please email Mrs. Johnson if you will be at tryouts to let her know what type of act you have planned. All students form PreK3 - 8th grade are welcome to participate. Please see the attached flyer for more information. Show will take place on Thursday, June 1. Times will be posted at a later date.
All students from Grades 4-8 are welcome to join the SCS Youth Choir. Rehearsals are currently Thursday evenings at 5:30. If you have any interest at all, please contact Regina Muscat at youthmusic@stcatherinechurch.com. It does not take much time to be a part of this special Ministry and it has been greatly received by the Parish.

As a reminder, payment for May lunch orders is now due. Payment can be made by check or cash and should be sent to the school office. Thank you!

Looking to save money on your next tuition bill and raise money for the school? Many school families already participate in our TRIP program (Tuition Reduction Incentive Program) and earn back monthly rebates towards their tuition. Families order gift cards through the Great Lakes Scrip Program and receive back a rebate percentage on each card which is then applied towards tuition. We would love to add new families to this program!
Create your own online TRIP account by signing up at https://www.shopwithscrip.com/ and place an order for next week to start earning money towards your tuition. The code to create an account is 2CL3966D181. Our next TRIP order will be placed on Monday, May 1st. Please have your TRIP order payment in the school office by 9:00 AM on Monday, May 1st.
