LAST WEEKEND TO REGISTER FOR 2017-2018 BEFORE FEES INCREASE
 
Registration for current school families for the 2017 - 2018 school year is now open. Please log in to your Schoolspeak account and click on the tab "Register for 2017-2018". We have extended the registration period for current school families at the rate of $100.00 per family through February 20th. In order to ensure your child's spot for next year, please complete the online registration process by Monday, February 20th. The non-refundable registration fee is $100.00 per family if paid on or before February 20th. After February 20th, the registration fee will be $150.00 per student.
 
Registration for new families will open on Tuesday, February 21. Please make sure to complete your registration by February 20th to confirm your child's placement for next year. We are not able to reserve a spot for your child if the registration has not been completed. If you have any questions about the registration process, please contact the school office.
 
Save money on your tuition bill!
Looking to save money on your next tuition bill and raise money for the school? Join the many school families who already participate in our TRIP program and earn rebates back towards tuition. Families purchase gift cards for the full value of the card but receive back a rebate percentage which is then applied towards the tuition.
 
Create your own online TRIP account by signing up at https://www.shopwithscrip.com/ and place an order for next week to start earning money towards your tuition. The code to create an account is 2CL3966D181. Due to the long weekend, our next  order will be placed on Monday, February 27th, however you can still order ScripNow cards online for immediate use. Please have your TRIP order payment in the school office by 9:00 AM on Monday February 27th.
 
Volunteer Needed
We are looking for someone who might be able to help our current TRIP coordinator, Melissa Galvez, process TRIP orders on a weekly basis. No experience necessary! Please contact the school office if you might be able to help. Thank you!
 
Save the Date! Mother/Son Event - Flyer Attached
This year's Mother/Son event will be at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates this year on Friday, March 3 . We will enjoy a basketball game with our sons and camaraderie with fellow moms. The game starts at 7pm . Tickets are $15/seat and there is an option for $6/meal (hot dog, chips, drink). Flyers were sent home with students last week to register for this event. Reservations are required. If you have any questions about the evening, please contact Susan Holland at susuholland@sbcglobal.net. Thank you!
 
March Lunch Orders
The site is now open to place your lunch orders for March. It will remain open through Wednesday, February 22nd. As a reminder, we are not able to add on orders once the site is closed so please be sure to order soon.
 
Valentines Thank You!
Thank you to Mrs. Oskorep and our NJHS Students for decorating our school with so many special valentines! We appreciate all those who participated in our Valentine fundraiser to help purchase extra supplies for the Birthday Bags for the F.I.S.H Food Pantry. 
 
Yearbook Pictures Needed!
This is a plea for your help!!!!! I am working on the 2016-17 yearbook and I am in desperate need of pictures from you. Any photos of classroom parties, school events, and sporting events are needed to fill the pages of our upcoming yearbook. I would greatly appreciate any contributions. Photos can be submitted via email if you have a few that you want to share. If you have a larger number of photos to share, then you could also send them to school copied to a flash drive or CD and mark them to the attention Mrs. Oskorep. I will be prompt in copying the images and returning the materials to you. (If you wish to send actual photos, then I can scan them and return the photos to you.) PLEASE submit your images as soon as possible.
 
School Absences and Illnesses
The flu season is definitely upon us and we just wanted to share a few quick reminders with you if your child has been sick or has missed a day of school.
  • If your child is sent home from school with a fever, he/she must be fever free for 24 hours without being on fever reducing medication before they are allowed to return to school.
  • Students exhibiting stomach flu symptoms should be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school.
  • Please encourage your child to wash their hands frequently, sneeze and/or cough into their elbow.
  • Students must bring a note with them when returning to school explaining why they were absent.

Wanted: Princess for Dundee's St Patrick's Day Parade
Calling all Lassies!! The Thom McNamee St Patrick's Day Committee is looking for this year's Princess to reign over the Parade on March 11th. A simple application can be found on the website at dundeestpats.com on the Queen/Princess tab.
All girls from grades 5-8 are welcome to apply. The deadline is Mar 3 so don't delay on your opportunity for this fun event!

Light of the World Retreat
Do you look for meaning among the chaos of the world? Do you wonder what God’s plan is for you? These and many other questions are in our hearts. As you struggle with these, we invite you to join us on Light of the World retreat, which seeks to answer these questions. The goal of the retreat is to help you discover God’s love for you and bring you into a closer relationship with Him .

The retreat is for all adults, both men and women. It will take place at our church on:

· Friday, Mar 3, 6:45pm-9:00pm

· Saturday, Mar 4, 8:00am-6:30pm

· Sunday, Mar 5, 8:00am-6:30pm

· Monday, Mar 6, 6:30pm-9:10pm

We want people to attend each day because the talks build on each other. If you want to join us, but are unable to make Friday evening because of the Mother/Son event, please let us know and we can make arrangements.
